Hello :) Well on Tuesday we went on a trip to Mullingar to watch the rest of TY's plays, I was really sad about the fact we didn't get to do a play, but I suppose it's all in the past, no point complaining about it. :)
The first play was by Eriu, based on the poem "Midterm Break" by Seamus Heaney, if anybody doesn't know it, it's a poem about a child who is attending his five year old brothers funeral, who died in a car accident. It's probably one of my favourite poems, even though it's ridiculously sad but it just completely shocked me the first time I read it, I don't know it just kind of stuck.
The second play was by class Banba, it was about a girl Jenny, who was a bully that committed suicide. Jenny liked a boy called Tyler, who got another girl Amelia pregnant, and while at the start of the play all Jenny's friends were ganging up against Amelia, their loyalty changed swiftly. at the end, Jenny was taking a tablet for her headache, and while she was thinking about how much everyone now hated her and that the boy she liked didn't like her back, she overdosed and died. I really liked this play, because even though once again it was kind of depressing, it actually had some pretty funny moments .
The third play, was another play by Eriu. It was based on the song "Concrete Angel" by Martina MacBride, and let me point out it is one of the saddest songs ever. It is a song about child abuse, and about a little girl who had to pretend everyday that she was ok. The play started off by showing Holly, a little girl who had a very close relationship with her father, her father being completely oblivious to that fact that when he was not home, his wife beat Holly, but Holly passed off the bruises as a result of her "tripping". The teacher noticed bruises, but shrugged them off, the neighbours often heard noises but also just assumed it was nothing and ignored it and by the time Holly's father had realised what was happening, it was too late, and Holly was dead. The end of the play showed her father giving a speech at her funeral, about how if he had not been so naive Holly might be alive. Another pretty sad play..
The fourth play and final play, by class Banba also tackled the topic of bullying, by basing their play on the poem Titch Miller by Wendy Cope, by making the poem a diary entry in Tubby's (Titch's best friend) diary, which was then found by a stranger. It was about a girl, who had braces and glasses who was bullied for being different. She was always picked last for teams, mocked, etc... Then, when Tubby moved schools when she was eleven, she learnt how to stand up for herself, mocking "hockey players who could not spell" but Titch was not as fortunate, she was still bullied, and during her monologue she said she didn't think anyone would notice if she was gone, and then they told you that Titch was now dead, presumably by suicide.
There were other schools there, but I went to get lunch so I didn't get a chance to watch them, It was a really good day overall, I loved watching all my friends act out their plays, it kind of reminded me of the Sound Of Music to be honest. Good day!
Well that's all, I'll write again soon.

Blog Challenge time! :D
Sooo, I decided to do a blog challenge, because I'm a master procrastinator and it's a lot more fun than doing projects. So I'm doing to blog challenge:
"Write a blog post about somewhere that you would like to visit when you leave school"
Ok well there are so many places I would like to visit, but after I've finished school (and college) I really want to living abroad of travel abroad for a year? Well I've got like, a good few years left, and it will probably never happen, BUT the countries I would most like to go to for like a year would be:
1)Canada! Possibly Toronto? or Vancoover..
2) New York
3)LA
4)Chicago
5)Australia
I know, very original and out there... But before I die I plan on going to each of this countries/ cities. Well I've already been to NYC and Chicago, and I'm going back to Chicago this summer (BUZZ!) So I'm doing pretty alright.
Well that's all I can think of really, bit of a plan like. I'm thinking more short term at the moment, liek the fact my sister gave me permission to learn to drive in her car when she moves to Spain :D
Whoop whoop!
I'll probably end up doing another post..
So seeya in a minute?

Geography brochure yoke..
Soo, I'm in IT class. I've actually noticed that I don't have as many blog posts as I should, so I apologise in advance for blogging more than usual. I know that like twenty posts from me was probably more than enough.
Well I'm trying to do my geography project, and I'm having trouble finding "the perfect" disease to write about, just not feeling any of them? Which well I suppose if pretty lucky... but I actually meant in the sense that there are none, as of yet, I find interesting enough to actually write a brochure about. I'm pretty fussy about it though. I want to find one that nobody else is doing. I don't know. I should really stop putting so much effort into think about the project and actually just do it?
So the bell is about to go. I should probably publish this rather than add it to the piling list of drafts..

Desert Flower
So we watched a movie called Desert Flower, which was based on the life of Waris Dirie (I think I spelt that right) who was a girl was ran away from home in Somalia after being arranged into a marriage she did not want, she had to walk for days to reach the capital to find her family who arranged for her to get a passport and to get her out of the country. She moved to London to work as a cleaner in an embassy and was later homeless when the ambassador left. One day she met a friend and went to stay with her in her hostel, got a job working as a cleaner in fast food and started having a social life. Then she got picked up by a photographer and became a model, got famous and travelled around the world then when they found out her passport was out of date and that she was actually illegal, as she never got her passport renewed after she became homeless, so she married her neighbour to get citizenship. Then she became really famous, known world wide, and one day she did an interview, unlike all other stories about her being a nomad girl to super model, this one was her telling the world about how she was mutilated and how wrong female genital mutilation. Her story spread fast and eventually she was invited to speak out about it to the UN and started a movement to stop this happening to young girls.
Over all it was a very good movie, even though it had a very serious message it was funny at times and I would recommend it to watch if you're stuck for a movie :)
Slán? Ye I don't know..

We're back....
So we're back at school again, after two and a half weeks of actually getting sleep and being able to relax.. At the moment we have free Spanish in the computer room (Slightly obvious..) and because we just got back I have no projects or essays or any work due, just because I'm a model student... So i got back and checked my ClustrMap and I have a load of extra views? I think it's because we won ALL THOSE AWARDS! :D
I haven't got much to blog about really, just thought I should probably make a post, let you all know I'm alive and well? It's my birthday on Thursday!! So excited lads :D
