Busy busy busy...

So I actually can't write much, I have like five minutes left of class, but I had nothing better to do so I thought I'd write something..
So The first night of the musical was on last night! Well the hills may be alive, but I'm actually almost dead(hawhaw), I didn't actually notice just how much goes on behind the stage. Like normally in the audience when you're wondering why somethings being slow or why someone isn't on, you don't realise how manic it is behind stage, I mean everyone is panicking trying to get it fixed and even when things go smoothly on the stage, it's going mad behind it; but i loved my job! I was a runner, but I only really liked it when I actually had work to do. Fun all the same! Got to go, class is over and I won't have time later I can almost guarantee.

Work Exp. and Don Giovanni

So I haven't blogged in like three weeks, because I was at work experience and I was busy.. Sorry. So yeah, work experience was a bit of craic? I went to a psychiatric day centre, and everyone I speak to when they hear that is like :O because they assume that everyone that was there was really crazy? But like they were actually just normal people, who were all recovering from some form of illness.. So Yeah it was actually really fun!
Then last Tuesday we went to the opera, which I didn't mind so much, but it was very long. Like I didn't fall asleep or anything... But had a bit of a buzz sitting at the back and ate too many sweets and the usual, so overall it was a good day; and Fódla didn't get exiled to the tiny bus! We got to go on the big bus with Banba, and I'm not going to lie, it was pretty awesome.
So yep, I have loads to say but well I've waited to long to say it and all and I've forgotten most of it, I'll actually blog more that I'm back in school
ONLY A WEEK TO THE MUSICAL! Which I'm working as a runner at. :)
So that's about it really, Hope you're all well.

Religion activity :)

So I've been on mid-term the past week, which was nice, enjoyed the break and all that, soo happy to be back...  :)
Yesterday in Religion we did an activity, where we all were given a paragraph describing a person and she would ask us questions like "are you educated" etc. and depending on your person, you would take a big step for yes, small step for maybe and stay for no. I was Xi Li, who was a 13 year old girl from child who worked in a factory making toys, she was often ill due to the fumes from paints but was not allowed voice her opinion and got no leisure time. The point of this was to show that everyone is equal, but we all have different opportunities, the poeple at the front, had the best chances, while the people who barely moved didn't get may chances at all.

Sentence with no words... 0_o

Mrs. L gave us a challenge, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to show you just how cool I am (*sarcasm*)

History talk and I'm about to get sick...

I'm going to get sick, like seriously. Have my Build a Bank interview in half and hour, like never mind butterflies, someones opened a cage of birds in my stomach, like the simile? oh god... I'm so cheesy. I talk WAAAY too much when I'm nervous, which I suppose may be an alright thing when I have to talk?..
I actually want this so bad! Stop ranting now..
We got a history talk of Mr. Doohan from Argards, and it was actually pretty interesting. I found out a lot of things I never knew about Celbridge before, and I liked the way we saw loads of pictures as well, so we could see exactly how it used to be like back in the day.
He also said he may bring us for  walk down main street and tell us everything about ti and stuff. I personally think that would be slightly cool, considering we all walk down it like everyday.

I'm actually going to go now, before I lose all my loyal followers due to my excessive ranting, I'll update you if I get the part in the bank, wish me luck because I'm really going to need it!

AHH! Stress

So it's the last week before Mid-term (and not a moment too soon might I add) and the teachers are being every so kind and piling on the work before we get a tiny bit of freedom. Ms O'Connell decided all of a sudden to move back the date that our Geography project is due by six weeks (-.-) So now I'm running about the place like a headless chicken trying to get it all done. Then I have my English Assignment, which is a 2 page minimum essay on the play we saw, THEN my Spanish powerpoint on Chile is due for Friday(?) and then a maths test on all the maths we have done all year, as well as the usually workload.
Bit stressful to say the least. I'm clearly not very stressed over it to the extreme because I managed to fall asleep mid-project work last night and woke up like half an hour later with my face on the keyboard... Whoops.
Dress up on Friday!!! The theme is the Addam's family, and I'm debating whether I'm going to be Pubert(lol) or Wednesday. Decisions decisions.
Also have this Mini-Compant meeting on tonight, which I suppose will be a laugh, and of course very productive... I'm joking I'm joking we actually do have a lot of work to do.

I could actually write more, but I have schtuff to be doing like, so I'm going to go?

English trip and Build a Bank stuff

Sooo, didn't get to blog this morning, because I was at a talk about the Build a Bank challenge. OMG I need to get in. Was going to apply for the craic anyway, but the prizes are amazing aswell, and it's something else to put on my very empty CV..
We went on our English trip yesterday, first we went to the "National Library" which had no books... then the National musuem to look at the bog bodies which was really interesting, and then the WB Yeats exhibiton which Was probably my favourite one out of the three.
Then we had our very nutritious lunch in MacDonalds, and then went to see Juno And The Paycock in the Abbey theatre, which was pretty great. My favourite character was Johnnny, because of the amazing acting and everything, obviously...

Mini-company!

Getting really excited about this mini-company thing, I'll admit at the start of the year, it wasn't exactly what I'd of called my FAVOURITE class... But now that we have a solid idea and a group we're all happy with etc. I'm actually really looking forward to getting this thing going (and possibly making a bit of de moolah in the process :D )
I'm in charge of Finance and Purchasing, which sound pretty boring but isn't actually that bad :)
Trying to slightly more optimistic in this blog post, because even Mrs. L has noticed that I'm too sarcastic... Oops.

Nom nom...

So today is blog action day! Which I admittedly forgot about.. But the topic is "Food", this shouldn't be too difficult for me. Going to answer some of these suggested questions, here I go..
My favourite food, is lasagne. AHH! that, and sweet and sour chicken. :)
Best food memory? ehm, probably this restaurant I was in once, where you sat in a car? and like the dashboard was your table, and it was just very very cool all together.
Worst food memory? That time I got food poisoning.. Oh and the time I tried Vegemite. IGH. * Shudders*
The Strangest thing I have ever eaten, has to be nettle soup, which looked a bit like algae floating in a bowl, but tasted pretty nice. And green Ketchup. Or that one time when I was a kid and decided to try chocolate with my pizza, that was strange but oddly great.
vegetarian, vegan or meat eater: Meat eater. Fo sho. Went through some random stage once, where I decided I would be a vegetarian, but then I realised, there was no way I'd be able to hack that.. Fair dues to anyone who can though.
Growing my own food. hmm. not something I do very often, my brother has a vegetable patch in the back garden, but it take a long time before we get any food out of that, so I suppose this is where I mention how glad I am that I don't need to grow my own food, because I can just buy it, because if I get a bad summer, my food stocks aren't destroyed.
Freeganism: Eating things other have thrown away. Well I'd eat my friends leftover food sometimes, Aisling D is particularly a great food recycler, go you! :L

I don't know if I did this right, like I didn't mention the more important topics that most.. But I suppose the whole point is just to raise the awareness :)

English trip :)

Another Wednesday trip XD which is kind of great, considering I don't hate Wednesdays, but strongly dislike..
Going to go see "Juno and the Paycock" (Said in my best old Dublin accent, which make me sound like I'm from Cork)
and going to othe rother educational schtuff aswell, going to the Yeats exhibition, which isn't much of a suprise, because I vaguely remember Mrs. B really liking his poems, and then we are going to go see the bog bodies in one of the National history Museums :)
But, as extremely exciting as that all is (and no I'm not being sarcastic!*cough* Ellen *cough*) we get to go off on our own in town for lunch, which will be good craic :)
So ye, roll on TY :)
Think we may possibly be having a party in PE, Cross your fingers fodlians!

:D

Clustrmaps?

Got a Clustrmap thing on my blog because Mrs. L said we should.. Dunno what it does mind you.. suppose we'll find out.. :D

Fódla should have won.

Just putting that out there.
Fodhla? tisk tisk..

xD

Educating Essex yeow..

Mrs. L told us we have to blog about "Educating Essex". So BASICALLY it's a show, where it goes around a school and films all the interesting bits? So what was the main focus of the episode we watched, was a 13 year old girl who was getting bullied because she was head girl, (Aisling's our class captain, so I think she should watch her back) But anyway, she was getting creepy and plain mean texts off her "friends" so she reported them to her year head(or what ever they call it there) and when they found out who sent the texts, they were in huge trouble, possibly getting a criminal record, so the moral of the story is, don't send dodgy texts, even if it is a joke.
The second person was a guy called Sam, who had low self-esteem and struggled in school and the like, so he took it out on everyone else and decided it was better to not try and look "cool" than try his best and not get it. He then started calling his friend Dean names, which then lead to his mam and his sister(don't ask why his sister arrived) to arrive at the school and have a big meeting, which by the way, the relatives had rubbish attitudes, like "I'd give him a black eye" and all this.
Soo, now we get to the cheesy part where I tell you the moral of all this was not to bully people (obviously) and even if you think it's a joke someone might not see i that way and jokes can go too far. Oh and the classic try your best.

PS, we lost the fun walk.. Sad times, but Mrs. L said we were a close second, (and that she voted for us to win xD)

5 (probably not) interesting things I have to do this week :)

Well Mrs. L is out today, so for our IT class she asked us all the write a blog on 5 things we have to do this week, which won't be very hard.

1.Find some item of clothing I own that slightly resembles yellow, because it is a hideous colour that I don't own/wear, but I have to wear for the Fun Walk tomorrow. I also need to find some form of cardboard for our "super secret project" that everyone seems to be finding out about.

2. I'm part of purchasing for our mini-company so I need to see if there is anyone who would be willing to manufacture the product for us, and do some form of research for the company so that Ms. P won't kill me.

3. Actually get to work on this Geography project, because I'm still on my first city and i have like three countries to go..

4. Try find a bag of fake leaves for our Home ec design project, which for some reason, I think that won't be so easy to find.

5. Get around to buying all the stuff I've been saying I will for weeks, like the Irish scrapbook, the geography scrapbook the diary thing for religion, and I was going to buy our play - Juno and the Paycock, but if actually left it so long we've finished... Oops..

Well ye, there's my very interesting things that I have to do for TY this week, baring in mind this week only has a few days left in it.

Whoever said Ty was a doss year, was seriously having a laugh.

Note to Self.

Please can someone remind me not to leave my projects until the night before. Especially when I have no idea what I am supposed to be doing. What in God's name is a mood board?! This should be interesting...

In IT

ELLEN McC IS WRITING BLOG POSTS ABOUT ME! And laughing at me because my blog keep freezing and apprently I'm "Sarcastic".

"Operation Yellow Submarine"

SOO, this week is the "Fun walk" (For all you don't know its a non-sponsored sponsored walk? where we all compete within years to have the best dance) and this year, I'm gonna go and say- without jinxing it- that I think we might have a good chance of winning! Our tutor Ms. O'c is REALLY competitive about it, so she's taking us out of classes to get it perfect and everything :) Our colour is yellow, they give us a colour like that and expect us NOT to spend money? Tempted to show up in green or something just for the laugh. Ty have to be the stewards for the whole school, which I don't mind doing really, just a bit annoyed about not being able to watch all the other classes dances!
I'd write more details about our dance and music and theme and stuff, but I'm afraid, that's top secret. :P

s'later,
Aoife :)

Ah Well...

Just noticed that I keep writing really long blog posts. Whoops.

*Insert witty title here*

Hello there :) Well we were supposed to be in History, but our teacher is out so we all just went to the computer room to write a blog. Deadline for the BT Young Scientist competition is on Monday, needless to say I'm slightly stressed about that, but it's starting to take a bit of a shape now, then I have my geography "Around the World Trip" project, which is almost 1/4 of the way done, our group has to come up with a Mini-company idea that might actually sell, and then our Irish folder and our history project. AHH. Still though, Ty is still a bit of craic all the same.
Going to our first Mini-Company workshop tomorrow, kind of excited though because I'm not really sure what it'll be like? Hoping we can come up with a great and "Innovative" in our double MC class though, because at the moment we're slightly stuck.
Got some more far fetched career suggestions in Careers yesterday; as well as being a DJ, I should also consider being a piano tuner, and dog warden and every type of teacher under the sun. Still got the speech and language therapist though, I kind of like the idea of that one :).
FINALLY getting a move on with this work experience thing, Wrote out my CV and cover letter for my application for the playschool, and today I need to ring up someone to confirm my one in the hospital, which I'm so glad is finally sorted. Gotta love talking on the phone. Not really actually I'm really bad at things like that.
Still haven't found out if I got the backstage work for the school's "The Sound of Music" production, which I kind of want, but didn't know it was after school.. I'll still go anyways though if I get it but its less of a motivation alright
Righteo, not sure there is much else I can say really, if you read this far down you should probably get some form of medal.

Random IT Class Blog 0_o

Sooo.. I haven't actually got anything in particular to blog about, but I'm in IT so I suppose I should probably write something! Well the last class I just had was Creative Writing? Which is one of my favourite classes (because I'm slightly a book nerd) and we all had to read out a passage from a book we like, I brought in the book, which I was one of three people who remembered, and was panicking about the place like a headless chicken (nice comparison ehh?) trying to find one because I'm stupid and ill prepared, but it worked out in the end :) We all have to read the book "One Day" but because I've already read it, I think I have to read something else?
Before CW, we had Career Guidance, we did a survey to see what our career interest categories would be, and my top three were 1. Social 2. Linguistic 3. Creativity (Yeah right) and apparently I should be either a Speech and Language Therapist or a DJ?
In music we had singing, I had to sing the lines " na no ne no la-o hmp" fast, which took a while to get but was a bit of a laugh.
Started a key rack in Tech. ... Yep.

This was pointless enough I suppose? I'm sure you were dying to hear all about my day :)

Really need to think of some way of signing these off..

Carlingford Trip!

Well on Tuesday we got back from our Carlingford "Bonding Trip"(AKA Transition Year Fat Camp), which by the way was great! Sorry about any incoherent spelling or sentences in the post, I'm writing this in school, and we all went out last night to celebrate our JC results, and I don't do sleep deprivation well.
On Monday we got up at half 6 to go for our bus (-.-) but I slept most of the way, We arrived at the adventure centre and then we all went out straight away for our first- and my favourite- activity which was Laser Combat; Which involved walking up a hill that was on a serious incline:
    /
  /
/              <------ The hill
Which was basically paint balling, without any of the pain. The blue team won (Clearly because I was on it.... I joke)
Later that day we did some form of course, with loads of games and activities and stuff, which was mostly about team work. Our guide was Wayne, who was cool. My favourite challenge was the maze, mostly because I'm glad I managed to do it, considering the fact I'm kind of claustrophobic, and the maze was in a port cabin with three stories, meaning we all had the crawl in narrow tunnel- in the dark.
Then we walked the scenic route (thank God) up to the "Night line" which was where we all were blindfolded and had to hold on the a rope and each other in a line and try make it to the end by communicating and stuff.
That night we all went down the the common room ( I thought of Harry Potter too) where our school and another boys school(:D) had a sing song type thing, where everyone who could sing got up and did. I shared a room with 7 other friends from school, but because we were so tired I don't think we made it past 1:30am.
The next day we went rock climbing and abseiling, which I'm going to admit terrified me, but I'm glad I did it. For the rock climbing, I started on the most difficult one (because I'm that damn clever) and almost suffered heart failure, but I did it all the same. The I got the adrenaline bug, and did them all. Pretty happy with myself. Then lastly I did the abseiling, which I didn't really like but I'm glad I can say I did it.
That afternoon we did Orienteering(Hiking with a purpose) which was... pretty tiring to say the least. During that we did archery, and for one of my arrows (by some stroke of luck) managed to actually hit pretty close to the bullseye. After the big hike we headed back to the centre, and left on our bus, arriving home at about 7, wrecked. I still had a great time though. :)

Carlingford!

Heylo :) Well tonight I started packing for Carlingford, which is our TY bonding trip that we are going on on Monday. I'm really excited about the trip, but just thinking about the whole "Getting-up-at-half-five" thing is making me tired. We have so many things we have to bring, that I'm finding it hard to fit in everything without showing up with a suitcase. At the moment I'm trying to decided whether I can fit in my hair dryer. Just thought I'd let you know that, because I'm sure you care.
Next week is such a busy week! but I'm sure it'll be great; Carlingford on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday we get the dreaded Junior Cert. results, but if I'm to be honest I actually want back, then out to a disco we go that night, sleepover, and then drag myself out of bed for school the next morning for my "too active day after" Thursday, with double PE, pilates and dancing. And then of course it's Friday.
Roll on TY!

Adios amigas :) (Still working on that signing off thing)

Thursdays!

Needless to say, Thursday is by far the best day on Fódla's timetable. First thing this morning I had Home ec, where we have to design a costume in groups, which is great craic. Then I had IT, which is where I write in my blog and work on projects and stuff, then we normally have double PE but our teacher was out so we had a double free- Which didn't actually turn out to be completely free, because even though I didn't think it was possible, my PE teacher actually left us written work. For our second half of the class we ended up playing hangman, I got one of the quotes but I didn't have any good ideas so I just let someone else go up.
Next we had music, which was a bit of fun, we did singing and train noises? And then we had someone in to talk to us about the local youth café.
After Lunch we have "TY activities" Which is photography, pilates and swing dancing.

Need to think of some way to sign this off....

First week and Personal Development. :)

Well, last week was our first week in TY. We all got put into our new classes (I'm in Fódla- Which by the way is the best class out of the three) which is pretty weird because we are all so used to our other classes.
On Tuesday of this week, We had a Personal and Social development workshop with this guy called Austin, which actually turned out to be a great day! We did lots of group work and discussing which was good to help us not be so awkward as a class group, and learnt about "The Four Humours" which were, Directors(Red), Entertainers(Yellow), Mediators(Green) and Observers(Blue). We played a game with cards to help us find which group we were in and at the end, whichever colour you had the most of determined which group you were in. I was a director (Not a huge suprise considering everyone was firing the red cards at me) as I got 6/8 red cards and in these groups made a poster describing how we would save christmas
We also found out if we were intro-verted or extro-verted, I was told I was intro-verted (which actually suprised me alot because I wouldn't consider myself shy)
In the end, it was a really good day, our class wasn't really that close the first week, so I think this might have helped us become a little bit closer :) (There is no way you can say that without sounding really cheesey)
